Minister Attaf holds several bilateral meetings in New York

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, held several bilateral meetings in New York.
In this regard, Attaf met with the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Yemen, Shaya Mohsen Al-Zindani, the Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Ivorians Abroad, Léon Kacou Adom, the Minister of External Relations of Cameroon, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic, Sylvie Baïpo-Temon, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence of Ireland, Micheal Martin, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.
Attaf's meeting with the Arab League Secretary General focused on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and the broader Middle East, in light of the continuation of the genocidal war against the brotherly Palestinian people and the Israeli escalation on all fronts in the region.
The Secretary General of the Arab League, on this occasion, applauded Algeria's active role, as an Arab member of the UN Security Council, in defending the central cause of the Arab nation.
The meeting between Attaf and the Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza allowed the two parties to “review the tragic humanitarian situation caused by the ongoing Israeli aggression and the continuing blockade imposed on the Palestinian people in the enclave and to examine ways to increase international efforts to alleviate and ultimately resolve this humanitarian crisis.
In his meeting with Yemen's Foreign Minister, they examined the developments in the Yemeni crisis and the situation in the Red Sea.
On this occasion, emphasis was placed on Algeria's commitment, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, to support the security and stability of this brotherly country and to defend its sovereignty.
Mr Attaf further examined with the Ivorian Minister of Foreign Affairs the means to bolster bilateral relations, reviewing the political and security developments in the Sahel-Sahara region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated his Cameroonian counterpart on the Cameroonian presidency of the current UN General Assembly session, led by the former Prime Minister, Philemon Yang.
During this meeting, the two parties also explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation and discussed several African Union issues.
The meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic allowed to examine the means to boost bilateral relations and to enhance coordination between the two countries at the African level.
Mr Attaf and his Vietnamese counterpart agreed on the necessity to give new impetus to the traditional friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, notably through high-level visits, scheduling the Algerian-Vietnamese joint commission, holding political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and increasing engagement between businessmen and economic operators.
Regarding the talks with the Irish Deputy Prime Minister, the same source said that “they explored ways to bolster bilateral relations and enhance coordination between the two countries on international and regional issues of common interest.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and his Armenian counterpart discussed the situation in the Middle East and its repercussions on international relations.
