Other Consular services

  • Certificate of Change of Residence and De registration:

Algerian citizens residing abroad who are registered in one of our diplomatic or consular posts and who have returned to permanently reside in Algeria, and wishing to renew their identification and travel documents at the municipalities of residence, can contact the civil status Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to obtain a certificate of deregistration or a certificate of change of residence by presenting the following documents: 

  • Original applicant’s Consular Registration Card or a Declaration of loss.
  • A valid copy of an identification card of the applicant
  • A certificate of residence issued by the administrative services of the municipality of residence.
  • Delivery of an Emergency Passport:

Algerian citizens residing abroad who are registered in one of our diplomatic of consular posts, staying temporarily in Algeria and whose passport has been lost, stolen or no longer valid; and who must return to their country of residence may present a request for an emergency passport by presenting the following documents: 

  • Dully filled emergency Passport Form.
  • An expired passport, a Declaration of loss, theft or damage issued by the competent authorities.
  • Two photos with a white background.
  • Proof of stamp fees payment at the tax office, of 6.000 DZD for adults and 3.000 DZD for minors.
  • Copy of the resident permit abroad.
Observation:
Requests of emergency passports for children or people without legal capacity, must be submitted by the legal guardian or a curator.
In case of unavailability, a formal authorization from the latter, authenticated by a public official, is required to issue the travel document.
Foreign court decisions relating to the guardianship or curatorship of minors or legal incapacity of children are only accepted if they have been declared enforceable by Algerian courts.
