Communiqué of the Ministry: the attack on the Saint-Corant in The Hague - the Netherlands
Algeria has strongly condemned the attempt to undermine the symbols of Islam after a serious blunder by a Dutch official who desecrate a copy of the Holy Quran in The Hague (Netherlands).
Reiterating its condemnation of these recurring acts of provocation which have serious repercussions on social peace, Algeria calls on the governments of the States concerned to undertake the necessary legal and practical measures to prohibit and repress the attack on religious symbols, to fight against hate speech and extremism, and to work towards ensuring that the values of tolerance and living together prevail.
