Mr Attaf receives phone call from Pakistani counterpart

The Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

The Pakistani minister informed his Algerian counterpart about developments in the Indian subcontinent, particularly the conditions leading to a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India aimed at addressing the situation and preventing escalation that could jeopardize the security and stability of both countries and the broader region.

For his part, the Minister of State expressed Algeria’s satisfaction with the agreement and commended the mediation efforts that facilitated it, prioritizing diplomacy and dialogue over tensions or confrontation.

Attaf also expressed Algeria’s hope to further promote this approach in the coming days to create new opportunities for sustainable, just, and lasting peace between the two neighboring countries, in the best interests of their peoples and to strengthen peace and security across the region.
