Security Council: Nuclear disarmament is “moral imperative,”

Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amar Bendjama, stressed on Monday in New York that nuclear disarmament is “more than just a legal obligation; it is a moral imperative,” urging States with nuclear weapons to “engage constructively” to maintain the integrity of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) regime.
