Communiqué of the Ministry - Denial of an alleged suspension of visas to the French citizens

During the last few days, a misleading campaign emanating from certain circles hostile to our country has been reported, claiming an alleged "decision" of the Algerian authorities to suspend the delivery of tourist visas to French citizens.   

The Ministry categorically denies this campaign of misinformation and specifies that the Algerian diplomatic and consular representations abroad provide continuous consular services and continue to issue, in the most normal way, tourist visas to nationals of all third countries, including French, wishing to visit Algeria.

Moreover, the Ministry clarifies that since the beginning of this year, and as part of the promotion of tourism destinations to Algeria, additional facilitation measures have been introduced, exceptionally, to allow the issuing of regularization visas on arrival to the national territory (international airports, land border crossings and ports) for the benefit of citizens of third countries wishing to travel, in a tourist context and through travel agencies, in one of the twenty-four (24) wilayas of the South of the country.       

In addition, visa applications submitted privately, continue to be processed at the level of Algerian consular services abroad, in accordance with the regulations and procedures therein.
