Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs- Repatriation of Algerian nationals in Lebanon 11/10/2024

The operation of repatriation of Algerian nationals established in Lebanon started on Friday, in implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to provide assistance to the Algerian community in Lebanon.

The operation to repatriate the Algerian nationals was initiated following a plan set up for this purpose. Thus, Algerian nationals were transferred from Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut to Cairo International Airport aboard two flights specifically mobilized for this operation. Air Algerie will subsequently ensure their transport to Algeria.

The arrival of the 306 Algerian nationals to Algeria is expected this Friday morning.

This is the second operation of its kind, following the one carried out in August 2024, which allowed the repatriation of more than 125 Algerian citizens.

All necessary resources have been mobilized to ensure the success of this operation and to allow members of our community to return to the country under the best conditions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ensured, adding that other repatriation operations will be organized if needed.

In implementation of the instructions of the country's high authorities regarding the provision of assistance to the community abroad, the Algerian State, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, will spare no effort to stand by its children abroad in times of joy or sorrow.
